This could be the end for a popular shoe retailer. According to Reuters, Payless Shoes could be the next major retailer to close all of their locations.

U.S. discount retailer Payless ShoeSource Inc plans to close all of its approximately 2,300 stores when it files for bankruptcy later this month for the second time in as many years, people familiar with the matter said on Thursday.

If this is true, I will be devastated. I love shopping at Payless, especially with having young kids who, I swear, go through shoes like water. It's always been nice having a store to go to to purchase shoes at low prices since kids seem to wear through them pretty quickly.

There is still a chance for the shoe company to be saved if someone buys the company before it goes into bankruptcy. But so far, no one has come forward to buy the company. As of right now, no store closings have been announced but we could see a list in the coming weeks if something doesn't change. So for now, we keep our fingers crossed that someone rescues the company
