It is well documented that the food pantries in the area have been in need of non-perishable food items.  The demand far exceeds to supply.  Well, here is an opportunity to help without having to go to one of the pantry locations complements of the area letter carriers. The United Way of Adams County and the National Association of Letter Carriers are teaming up for the 25th Annual "Stamp Out Hunger" National Food Drive this Saturday, May 13.  Also participating in this year's food collection on Saturday are the Post Offices in Hannibal, Hamilton and Mt. Sterling.

The letter carriers are asking that you place your non-perishable donation in a bag by your mailbox and they will pick it up Saturday and deliver it to 12 different local pantries. All you do is place those items near your mailbox.  That's it. You don't have to do anything else to help stamp out hunger in our area.

So please take this opportunity to help restock the food pantry supplies on Saturday.
