The current heat wave shows no sign of going away thru this weekend and the National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for the area. As a result, the Quincy Salvation Army will open the Kroc Center as a cooling center on days when heat advisories, like today, are issued for those who need to get out of the extreme heat.
The Kroc Center, at 405 Vermont, is open as a cooling center during heat advisories from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. seven days a week.

Should there be need for emergency housing, The Salvation Army Emergency Shelter can be contacted at (217) 222-8655.
