If you're a subtle type, you announce your pregnancy at an intimate luncheon. If you're
Kelly Clarkson, you announce your pregnancy to thousands of screaming fans at Los Angeles' Staples Center.

Last night (August 19), at the latest stop along her Piece by Piece tour, Clarkson broke down during a performance of the eponymous track—the lyrics of which pair her father's neglect against her husband's love—and shared the good news through tears.

"I was not planning on announcing this," she shares in the video above as a means to address her crying. "[But] I'm totally pregnant, so I'm having a hard time."

The crowd suddenly erupts into cheers and applause while Kelly swings her arms and performs a handful of jumping jacks to mitigate the awkwardness.

Still, a consummate professional, Kelly vowed to give her fans their money's worth.

"I'm totally gonna nail the s--- out of this song," she resolved. "Just gimme a second."

"I haven't vomited yet!" she concluded. "That's a win, y'all."

And, on the topic of looming birthdays, Kelly dedicated her latest fan request performance—"Cool for the Summer"—to her friend and superfan, Demi Lovato, who turns 23 today (August 20).

"To see a kid that used to go to my shows have this huge, lustrous career, she's just killin' it," Clarkson tells the audience in the clip above before diving into a slow, smoky rendition of the sexy single. With only an acoustic guitar as accompaniment, we're taken right down into her paradise.

It seems Demi agrees, as she tweeted "WOW WOW WOW.. @kelly_clarkson thank you SO MUCH for covering #coolforthesummer at your show tonight!!! BEST BDAY GIFT EVER!! *literal tears*" after catching the set.

Kelly announced her first pregnancy through a tweet in November 2013, noting "I'm pregnant!!! Brandon and I are so excited! Best early Christmas present ever :)." She gave birth to River Rose Blackstock on June 12, 2014.

Kelly's always been one for the unexpected, but can you believe her latest announcement? Be sure to send your congrats!
