Being a long term member of the Alzheimer’s Association’s Advisory Board I know the organization is always looking for ways to encourage people to enhance one’s brain. With that said, the Alzheimer's Association-Quincy Area Office is looking for people in their 40s and older to participate in a fun and interactive healthy aging program called “Train Your Brain.”

The six-week program will meet from 6-7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays from October 9th through November 13th at the Alzheimer's Association office in the Quincy Senior Center, 639 York St., Quincy.

Train Your Brain was developed as part of the Association’s mission to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. Each week will feature a different brain-related topic and a guest speaker. The topics are stress management, diet, exercise, socialization, maintaining brain health and knowing the 10 warning signs of Alzheimer’s disease.

The cost for the program is $30 per person. Participants will receive a brain stimulation activities manual and handouts for each session. A certificate of completion will be given upon conclusion of the final session. Registration is required by Oct. 8 by calling the office toll free at 800.272.3900. Missouri callers should dial 217.228.1111.
