On October 19 the Quincy Notre Dame Football Raiders will be hosting the Quincy Blue Devils at 10th and Jackson in the rivalry game at 10th and Jackson.  The atmosphere that night will be electric as it has over the past few years when these two teams hookup. It'll be bragging rights for the winner. Unfortunately, while that game will be going on, there will be some people in this area who will be wondering where their next meal might come from. Thank God for food pantries.  With that in mind, we thought we would have some fun while helping out the people in need of food in the area as well. So beginning this Monday, Y101 and KICK-FM will kickoff our Be Thankful Food Drive to collect non-perishable food items at our studios at 24th and Broadway in Quincy.  Here's where the fun part comes in.

On Y101radio.com will be a football field with QHS and QND on it. When you drop off food items, just tell us what team you support, QHS or QND?  Each donated item will move that team 10 yards closer to the end zone. So after 10 items are collected for one of the teams, that team will get 7 points. Keep checking Y101radio.com to see what the score is each day.

The Be Thankful Food Drive campaign runs through November 9 and is brought to you exclusively by Y101 Radio and Toyota …“Let’s Go Places”. Just drop off items anytime from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday, or at Shottenkirk Toyota at 5333 Broadway in Quincy during normal business hours by November 9th and remember to tell us what team you support. The Salvation Army will then distribute the food to those in need.
