I noticed this morning that yesterday was a monumental day in the record business and I totally missed it. Thursday was "National One Hit Wonder Day." Apparently, there is a day for everything if you look hard enough for it. It did set my mind into motion thinking about some of my favorite one hit wonder groups and their big songs. The seventies seemed to have quite a few members to this one hit wonder club including the Starland Vocal Band in 1976 with "Afternoon Delight".

There were others like Alive and Kicking's "Tighter and Tighter," Mungo Jerry's "In the Summertime" and "Ride Captain Ride " from Blues Image.  Ironically, all three of those songs were favorites in the year 1970. I guess they took their money and ran with it from there.

There are a ton of other one hit wonders out there so what one hit wonders can you come up with?
