The Illinois State Fair in Springfield kicked off last Friday Night with a blast from the past!

The band that played Friday was REO Speedwagon. Have you ever heard of them? REO is a band that has played together since the 1970s. Yes, some of the main people have left the band, but front man Kevin Kronin can still sing "Ridin' The Storm Out" like he was 21 again.

Many people I have talked with the past few days did not know what to expect with an aging front man and guys you have never heard of. No worries. All I heard this past weekend about the REO show was how the band can still rock with the best of them. And keep in mind, memories of days gone by are still fresh in the minds of the band who got their start at the University of Illinois.

Seasoned? Yes. Tired? No. They rocked Springfield!
