A random Facebook warning has many cat owners rethinking their Essential Oil purchases.

I don't have a cat (yet), but I do have two small dogs that can be affected by a diffuser. Many diffusers use essential oils to make your house smell better or to cure sickness. Certain oils can even help you sleep better when you are sick.

On a Facebook post, I saw that one diffuser user was slowing poisoning her beloved cat and she wasn't even aware of it. Her cat become lethargic, unstable on his feet and was drooling excessively. When she decided to Google the symptoms of her cat, she found out that it was the Essential Oils that she was using that was causing her cat's illness.

I ran it through Snopes (because you can't believe everything you read on the internet) and it turned out to be true.

After receiving a antibiotic shot and a vitamin shot, her cat is still alive, but not the same. If you have one of these diffusers, do not use the following oils: Rosemary and Frankincense, Orange, Lemon, Tea Tree, Eucalyptus and Lavender.

There are no warning labels on what Essential Oils are good for cats and small animals and which ones are harmful, so just be cautious. If you would like more information on how Essential Oils can be harmful, here are six safety tips that might come in handy.
