This is what the Hannibal Y-Men do. Through fundraising efforts and a lot of hard work the Hannibal YMCA will realize their goal of providing a new playground for kids in a dedication this Friday, July 5.

The new digs for the kids cover a 4,800 square foot area and will include special needs equipment for the roughly 120 children who take part in the Y day camp program.

A large portion of the funds for the project were raised through the Hannibal Y-Men's Mississippi Mud Volleyball Tournament and their "Down By the River" live concerts. Through those efforts and the support of the community through them, the Y-Men's Club has been able to pledge $60,000 to help complete the playground project.

Speaking of those events, the next "Down By The River" concert is coming up on Friday, July 12 at the Y-Men's Pavilion in downtown Hannibal. It starts at 5pm and features live music from The Black Tie Band.
