Teenagers are invited to pack the house at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center in Hannibal for the 23rd annual CHART Teen Task Force Health Fair. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 this Saturday, Feb. 2.

This free teen event is designed to promote healthy lifestyle choices for teens, and is an opportunity for church youth groups, scout groups, school groups and families with teens to combine fun and learning.

The Health Fair features 30 booths on health and safety for teens, a DJ with music, free prizes for teens and free food for all visitors. At the Health Fair, teens can put on glasses simulating the effects of alcohol on simple tasks like walking. Information on mental health issues, dental health, abstinence, contraception, sexually transmitted diseases and effects of drugs and alcohol will be presented. Booths will include 4H Shooting Sports Safety, University Extension’s Smoothie bike using teen pedal power to run the blender and the Gallery offering hair styling. There will be a Brazilian Jiu-jitsu demonstration by Gracie Barra.
