The CHART Teen Task Force has announced its nineteenth Teen Health Fair on Saturday, February 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center in downtown Hannibal. The Health Fair features booths on health and safety for teens, a DJ with music, free prizes for teens, and free food for all visitors.

At the Health Fair, teens can learn about seatbelt safety with the convincer sled, and put on glasses simulating the effects of alcohol on simple tasks. Information on the dangers of texting while driving, dental and mental health issues, and effects of drugs and alcohol will be presented.

This free teen event is designed to promote healthy lifestyle choices for teens, and is an opportunity for church youth groups, scout groups, school groups and families with teens to combine fun and learning. Over 30 booths will provide information for teens, and all teens will be eligible for prizes.

The Teen Health Fair is made possible by many generous donations from area merchants and individuals, the Riedel Foundation, Evening Kiwanis, and the United Way of the Mark Twain Area. The event is co-sponsored by the CHART Teen Task Force and Hannibal Parks and Recreation.
