The Hannibal Salvation Army concluded its 2017 Christmas campaign with the announcement of the 2017 campaign total yesterday following the opening of its new Family Store location in Hannibal’s Steamboat Bend Shopping Center.

On hand for the announcement were members of the Hannibal Salvation Army Advisory Council as well as 2017 Christmas campaign chairs, Susan and Jay Johnson.
In total, $102,509 was raised during the 2017 Christmas campaign, exceeding this year’s goal of $100,000.

This year, a total of 650 families across Marion, Ralls, Lewis, Monroe, Shelby, and Pike counties received Christmas food baskets. In partnership with Toys for Tots of Northeast Missouri, The Hannibal Salvation Army was able to help provide almost 8,000 toys to 1,331 children. Throughout the campaign, 253 volunteers from the Hannibal and northeast Missouri area offered nearly 540 hours of service.

Funds from the 2017 Christmas campaign will be used in the months ahead to provide food and clothing in addition to rent and utility assistance to individuals and families in need.
