The Boston Red Sox once again are World Champs after beating the Dodgers on Sunday night. And even though his Dodgers lost, one Hannibal native caught a game he'll never forget.

Lt. Colonel John Bleigh, originally of Hannibal, got to go onto the field at Dodger Stadium to be recognized for his service by the capacity crowd. Bleigh currently lives out west where he Commander for Recruiting in Southern California. He even got to cheer on his Dodgers from the second row for a half inning.

In the video, you can see everyone in the entire stadium on their feet to give Bleigh a round of applause. I have seen a few solider homecomings at St. Louis Cardinals games and they get me every time. It's very cool to honor servicemen and women on a grand scale like this. And it doesn't get much bigger than the World Series!

So good on the Dodgers and Red Sox for honoring an American hero. Thank you for your service, Lt. Colonel John Bleigh.
