2014 will mark the tenth anniversary of The Marion County Health Department's Halloween Parade in Hannibal. This year the parade is scheduled for Saturday, October 25. It will begin at 6:30 p.m. The parade route is from Grand Avenue and Broadway to the end of Main Street.

There is no registration fee to enter a float in the parade, but an application does need to be filled out and returned to the Marion County Health Department by 4:30 p.m. on October 23. That application can be filled out online or downloaded and mailed in.

According to the Marion County Health Department, candy cannot be thrown to the crowd, although treats may be passed out along the parade route. The department asks that all those entering a float only distribute healthy treats such as popcorn, pretzels and granola bars, or Halloween novelty items like glow bracelets. All floats and vehicles must be decorated and costumes are required for everyone in the parade. Line-up will begin at 5:30 at the Save-a-Lot parking lot.

The Marion County Health Department and Home Health Agency can be contacted online, or by phone at 573-221-1166.
