A proposal for the creation of a dog park has been made to the village board in Camp Point.

The board is thinking about using a portion of Longlett Park in Camp Point as a dog park, giving pet owners an opportunity to let their dogs run for exercise. The portion of the park is an open lot with trees that is rarely used for anything. The board is looking at a 50 by 50 foot fence area that will be divided in half, one for larger dogs, another for smaller dogs.

This is a great idea for the town instead of letting the dogs go free all over town. The price could go as high as $11,200 for fencing. The village board has suggested looking into a few more quotes.

In the meantime, the village will check on the liability of a dog park in Camp Point before making a final decision.
