Lots of kissing, dropping the wedding cake, and a few fights, all in a night's work when you're a wedding DJ!

As a wedding DJ, I have seen some pretty crazy things going on at receptions, and  sometimes you have to be ready for anything. Like just getting in the doors of the reception hall when the wedding party finally gets there. Many times I have seen the bride and groom arrive way late, like when the reception starts at 6 and the whole bridal party finally arrives at 8. Why were they so late? The groom was, as he later called it, a little tipsy. The bride was not happy and the moms and dads weren't, either.

Sometimes you see a nice fight break out. I have even seen a girl fight or two. That is always interesting.

People always want the music a little higher and when they come up and ask for a request, I can't hear them talk because the music is so loud that they just give up and dance with whomever.

And then there are people who think they are John Travolta and try to do his moves. They always fall down for some reason.

Food fights, torn wedding gowns, mothers who try to clean up the mess while the dancing is still underway and of course, the one uncle who just wants another drink, and then another, and another.

Life as a wedding DJ can be pretty entertaining. Luckily, our Y101 Bridal Expo is usually disaster free. The next Bridal Expo will be our 18th! We hope you can join us next winter. There will be a ton of giveaways, including a trip for one lucky couple. And, of course, there will be booths for everything related to weddings, maybe even DJs.
