The 9th Annual Friends of the Trails Bicycle FUN'd Ride will be held September 20, 2014 at All America Park. The event will have four different distances for cyclists. The event will feature a 15, 33, 63, and 100-mile route for participants to choose from.

The 100-mile ride will start at 6:15 a.m. The 63-mile group will take off at 8:30 a.m. The 33-mile riders will take off at 10:15 a.m, and the 15-mile participants will leave at 11:00 a.m.

Cost for the event is $30 for singles and $10 for children under 14. The registration includes a meal ticket and drink. After each participant finishes there will be an after party for all participants to enjoy.

Registration forms for the ride are available at Madison Davis Bicycle Shop, Quincy Park District Office, City of Quincy Planning & Development Department, and the YMCA.

Because of the help and generosity of many donors, The Friends of the Trails was able to meet their $500,000 fundraising goal nearly a year ahead of schedule. Construction on the trail between 12th Street to 5th Street is scheduled to begin in 2015. The next goal is to raise funds to complete the trail from 18th to 36th and proceeds from this ride will go toward this next phase.
