Friday was the first full day of National Tom Sawyer Days in downtown Hannibal.

The Kiwanis arts and crafts show opened at 9 a.m. in Central Park.

The carnival opened at noon on Lyons Street.

The afternoon schedule included the Kiwanis Tricycle Races at 1:30, registration and packet pickup for the Hannibal Cannibal at 2:30, mud volleyball at 3, the Tomboy Sawyer competition at 4, and the local and state fence painting contest, also at 4.

The over 30 fence painting contest started at 5:30. Jon Pardi with Natalie Stovall and the Drive took the stage in Tanyard Gardens at 7.

National Tom Sawyer Days runs through Sunday.
