I was reading the Saturday edition of the Quincy Herald Whig and came across a story about hospital gowns. Apparently, a Detroit based health system has come up with  a new hospital gown. Now, before you go off thinking that this story is not what it is "cracked" up to be, think about how long people have been complaining that the hospital gown they are wearing fails to provide "rear coverage" (sounds like a football term doesn't it?).

Well, this new gown is basically a wrap around robe and is known as the Model G gown. It closes the back and features adjustable snaps on the shoulders and front. These gowns are now available at 6 hospitals and 29 medical centers under the guidance of the Henry Ford Health System.

While this gown development is long overdue, it does beg to ask the question "What took so long?" People's posteriors have been exposed in hospitals for way too long. Finally, patient's can feel comfortable to take a stroll in the hospital.

Hey, if the doctors and nurses had to wear those gowns, this new Model G would have been designed a long time ago.
