The 7th annual Quincy's Smoke on the River Barbecue Contest, sponsored by the Quincy Exchange Club, will be held at Quincy’s Kesler Park on Friday, September 6 and Saturday, September 7. Some 40 contestants or “pit masters” will be cooking up a BBQ storm as they compete for prize money in different categories. Friday night will feature the opportunity to purchase great food and beverages to go along with music as Blues favorite Dave Chastain will perform on The Dock’s stage from 7 to 11pm with a cover charge of only $5. Saturday’s cooking competition runs from 10 to approximately 4pm. All proceeds will go toward various Quincy Exchange Club projects.
