The 42nd Annual Early Tin Dusters Fall Color Run will be held in Quincy, Illinois this Friday through Sunday. The 2017 Fall Color Run, which is a pre-1949 only event, always starts on the Friday following the second Sunday in October and is a free event. There will be typically between 800 to 900 vehicles attending this year’s convention.

For conventioneers, this year the annual wine tour takes them to the Rockcliffe Mansion and Pointe D'Vine on Friday.  On Saturday The Show & Shine event takes place in Downtown Quincy with the Quincy Preserves Hour tours taking place as well. On Saturday night a dinner will be served at Drakes Restaurant inside the Quality Inn & Suites with live music as you eat with Tim Hart performing from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. That will be followed by a dance at the Quality Inn & Suites from 7 to 10 p.m. with Fast Eddie & The Corvettes performing.

On Sunday the poker run will begin at the Town & Country Inn & Suites, a church service at Moorman Park at 11 followed by a flag presentation at 12 noon.  The awards presentation will begin at 2:30 with major prize giveaways and a 50-50 drawing being held to wrap up this year's event.

The public will get a great opportunity to view the cars which will be on display in The District (downtown) from 8 until 4 on Saturday and then again at Upper Moorman Park from 8 to noon on Sunday with a flag presentation honoring all veterans. The event comes to a close with the awards ceremony at 2 p.m. at Moorman Park.

The monies raised for the Early Tin Dusters convention go to Camp Callahan, a summer camp for physically and mentally disabled children and adults. Over the years, the convention has raised over $178 thousand for the camp.
