Applications are now available on the City of Quincy web site for those interested in entry level fire department applications and testing.  That site is: http://www.quincyil.gov/employment/any-city-job/quincy-fire-department-firefighter-testing. The deadline to submit applications for written testing is February 5, 2016.

Candidate Test Preparation Manuals published by Fire and Police Selection, Inc. are available for loan at City Hall at 730 Maine Street in Quincy during regular hours of Monday through Friday which are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the receptionist desk.

A change this year is the requirement for Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) card prior to the written test on February 20.   Those testing on that day will be required to present that card for verification prior to testing.  A list of locations where the CPAT is offered is included with the application as the last page.  Prices for the CPAT test vary along with test dates and times.

There are two times for the written testing with the first at 9 a.m. and the second at 1 p.m.  Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.  For additional questions, please contact the Fire and Police Commissioner's office at 217-228-4545.
