Quincy Senior High Schools famed Q-City Pommers are heading to state again. The squad, know for years now as top rate in the state, qualified Saturday,February 23 at regional competition held in Highland, Illinois.

The girls brought home some impressive hardware in the form of a first place trophy for one routine and qualified for the top round in the state with another. This year's state competition will be held on Saturday, March 16 at the University of Illinois in Champagne.

More traditional atheletes... football, basketball, baseball, volleyball players and the like are many times quicker to receive our accolades and admiration. As a "pommer dad" I can tell you without hesitation though... these girls are atheletes and put in every bit of time practicing and refining their skills as those in any traditional sport.

Here's to a successful trip to U of I in 3 weeks. We're rooting for you ladies!
