Meals on Wheels is holding a Cook’s Night Off event on the third Thursday of the month throughout 2018. It’s a fundraiser for the Meals on Wheels program as they offer eat-in, carry-out, or drive thru meals for just $7 each. All meals include either Fried Chicken or Roast Beef, two side dishes, bread and dessert. The hours for each 3rd Thursday of each month are 4 to 6pm at the Senior Center at 639 York Street.

The 6th Annual High School All-Star Baseball game featuring the best of Missouri against the best of Illinois will take place on Saturday, July 21. The game will be played at Clemens Field at 7 pm and will feature the top 50 high school seniors from 26 different schools in Northeast Missouri and West-Central Illinois.

On August 2nd, Dairy Queen in Quincy will be holding their Children’s Miracle Network Day. 100% of all “Blizzard” sales from 10am to 10pm that day will go to the Children’s Miracle Network. Plus, Smith Brother’s Bikes in Quincy will have bikes on display and will also be taking donations for the cause.

A benefit for Barbara Merkel, who is fighting Cancer, will be held at the Monsigner Farishon Hall in Palmyra on Saturday, August 18th. The event will begin at 4 pm and will feature a free will donation dine-in or carry-out dinner and a live auction at 7.
