Quincy, IL – Clairice Hetzler, Executive Director of Advocacy Network for Children, made the announcement that she will retire from her position with the agency.  The announcement was made last Friday at a specially called meeting of the agency’s Executive Committee.  Clairice has been with the agency since 1998.  At that time, she worked part-time when the agency had only one program, Adams County CASA.

Under Hetzler's leadership and guidance, the agency has grown and expanded to serve abused and neglected children in our community.  The agency now has a CASA program in Adams and McDonough Counties.

In addition, the agency has four accredited Children’s Advocacy Centers and five satellite centers covering 9 counties in West Central Illinois.  Those counties include Adams, Brown, Cass, Hancock, Morgan, McDonough, Pike, Schuyler and Scott.

When Clairice started with the agency, an average of 80 children were served each year.  Today that number is more than 500 annually.

Clairice will assist in the transition to a new Executive Director which is anticipated to be completed by October.  A search committee is being formed to begin its work to fill this position.
