The Quincy City Council voted Monday night to purchase software that will allow the City of Quincy to accept payments online for utility bills, building permits and parking tickets. The new software is expected to be operational sometime in May.

Customers will be able to pay by credit card or bank draft without an additional charge but customers who elect to pay by credit card in person or by phone will see an additional charge. The City of Quincy will continue to accept payments by mail, in person at City Hall, and by drop box even after the new software is up and running.

The cost of the new software was listed at $33,628.
