The 3rd Annual Christmas On Main Street is this Saturday in Warsaw. Complete with caroling, music of the season, Santa, and plenty of Christmas cheer. Stroll down Main Street in downtown Warsaw and enjoy an old-fashioned Christmas! Many downtown merchants will be open extended hours as well as offering holiday treats and entertainment.

The festivities begin with a self-guided tour of Warsaw Churches. There are seven churches in Warsaw and each one will be open 12pm – 2pm for touring. Some of the buildings are from the 1800’s and are exquisite. The Warsaw High School Jazz Band will be playing along with a community choir caroling from 2pm to 3pm at the First Presbyterian Church.

The Warsaw Historical Museum will be open for visitors and Bicentennial Collectible items will be available there including a limited edition Bicentennial Christmas ornament. Many “doors” along Main Street have been adopted and decorated for everyone to enjoy.

For the families with kids, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at the historic Log Cabins from 1pm – 5pm. The Log Cabins are located next to Henerhoff Field at the 10th and Main. Santa at the Log Cabin is a tradition that has been going on for over 25 years.

Several Warsaw merchants are also sponsoring a gift basket filled with prizes and will be open during the afternoon. A drawing from among those who participate in a “map” card contest will be eligible by visiting a number of local shops and establishments.

Many Warsaw homes are also decorated for the community lighting contest that will be decided later in the month. Come to Warsaw this Saturday, December 8th for a genuine “Christmas on Main Street.”
