Quincy to See 13 Street Projects Begin in The Next 6 weeks

Beginning this week and for the next six weeks Diamond Construction Company will begin to mill and resurface thirteen different areas of the City of Quincy.  All of the projects are weather permitting with the streets resurfaced being a part of the Asphalt Maintenance Program of the City of Quincy. US 61 Reopens Near Bowling Green

Updated - Traffic is flowing once again on Highway 61 in Pike County.  A section of US 61 south of the US 54 overpass near Bowling Green was closed earlier this afternoon.   The highway was closed for a time due to low hanging power lines resulting from a vehicle accident.

MoDOT Holding an Informational Meeting on Mo.79 Improvements Tonight

MoDOT and its contractor would like to invite area residents to learn more about the upcoming resurfacing and shoulder improvements on MO 79 from Route T in Hannibal to Route E near Saverton. Motorcycle Fatalities Are On the Rise

A recent report from the Illinois Department of Transportation shows that fatal motorcycle accidents are up 13 percent from 2010 thru last year.  The report shows that there were 148 motorcycle fatalities in the State of Illinois in 2012 compared to 131 in 2010.  The surprising element in these statistics is that fatalities rose despite less accidents involving motorcycles.
