It is funny how Americans consume certain foods with certain holidays. Like turkey on Thanksgiving Day and corned beef on St. Patrick’s Day. Both could be eaten anytime of the year, but we seem to usually devour it on the appropriate holiday instead. Of course the turkey is an All-American bird and it fits the holiday in November. But, in what may surprise many, corned beef and cabbage is not the main staple in Ireland on St. Patrick’s Day.

What Should the Big Dog Wear in The St. Patrick’s Parade? [Poll]

The St. Patrick's Parade set for a week from tomorrow (March 14) in Quincy. It will be the 29th year for the parade and over the years I have tried to come up with different things to wear. I even wore a kilt one year and took so much flack over it that I decided to show them and wear it a second consecutive year. The question always comes up though, "Are you going to wear a kilt again this year?"

Kellys Fun Run/Walk for the Quincy YWCA Held in the Snow

Mother Nature wasn't nice this morning for the Kelly's Fun Run/Walk for the Quincy YWCA as snowy and windy conditions prevailed. The 28th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade is in the books. Many thanks to everyone for being in the parade and coming down to watch it as we finally "Ushered in Spring".  With over 100 entries, this year's parade was the biggest ever surpassing the previous record of 94 entries.
