So, I am back in my office drinking a cold soda pop (do people call it that anymore?) and as I was taking a drink, it hit me. Strange names for soda.

I miss it. I want to be on the nice warm water. The Misssissippi, Mark Twain Lake, The Ozarks...any one of those locations.

Well, it's been a few weeks since I mentioned the low levels of the Mississippi River being a problem for shipping especially south of the St. Louis area. It's so bad that the Army Corps of Engineers is overseeing rock blasting in the channel of the river south of the Gateway City.
I love radio. I admit it. I have been a radio fan most of my life.
During the holiday season, we're all a little more mindful of helping out those that are in need. We do so by dropping our extra change - or even a few bills - into the Salvation Army's red kettles, donating to toy drives like Load the Lobby and Toys for Tots, or volunteering time to serve Christmas dinners to our neighbors who would otherwise be alone at Christmastime.
In a story in yesterday's USA Today, Americans are living longer, with fewer deaths from heart disease and cancer, but more chronic illnesses, troubling levels of obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure and sedentary behavior are causes for concern. Medical advances are allowing more people to live with those conditions.
This holiday season, give gifts that really mean something.
