We're getting ready for the annual Fishing Rodeo on Saturday at Moorman Lake in Quincy. The Fishing Rodeo always takes place during Free Fishing Days in Illinois (where you are allowed to fish without a fishing license), and we look forward to seeing fishermen and fisher-ladies of all ages. Tri State Lugnuts to Hold a Drive-In Movie Night

The Tri-State Lugnuts Cruise-In Night at the Quincy Mall will be held on Saturday, June 14. It will be drive-in movie night with the movie 'Snake & Mongoose' being shown. Radio stations are places that end up collecting a lot of stuff. Some of the stuff is really neat. Some of it is not. Here's something we found that is a piece of local music history. Rod and the Satalites was a band that was popular in our area in the 1960s, and we have a very nice copy of one of their records. Something unusual about the record is that it is green, and inside the sleeve was something else we found interesting, a "live on KHMO radio" stage pass from a show at the American Legion in Hannibal.

Former Big Leaguer Pat Perry Brings Baseball Camp to Quincy

Pat Perry had an eight-year career as a left-handed pitcher in the big leagues in the 1980s -- a career cut short by rotator cuff surgery. He is bringing the Pat Perry 2014 Summer Baseball Camp to the Quincy YMCA on June 9 and 10, and he'll be bringing with him a wealth of knowledge that even he didn't fully grasp and understand until after his playing days were over.
