When the Fourth of July arrives, people plan outdoor activities like watching fireworks, picnics and a visit to the local swimming pool. If you choose to do the latter in Quincy you will have only one option this weekend and that option is Indian Mounds Pool.

Independence Day is rapidly approaching, and with that the sales of fireworks are rapidly escalating. Safety is of the utmost importance when shooting off fireworks. Here are some interesting statistics regarding fireworks in the United States.

Independence Day is Saturday, July 4, 2015. There will be several fireworks displays in the area in the days leading up to, during, and following the Fourth of July weekend. Every summer, on one night, the folks of Hannibal will all gather their favorite people together in yards, lawn chairs, truck beds, and even on rooftops to enjoy one of the biggest events of Tom Sawyer Days; the annual Fourth of July fireworks display.

This Saturday night, fireworks displays will be seen by millions around this great country of ours including the Hannibal-Quincy area. In Hannibal it will be held on the riverfront and in Quincy the display will take place at the Illinois Veteran’s Home grounds.

The 20th Annual Hannibal Cannibal is Saturday, July 4 beginning at 7:00 a.m. The annual 5, 10 and 15k run and walk will again require some local roads to be closed during the event.

It is hard to believe that Independence Day is almost here. Seems like Memorial Day just happened. With the pending holiday approaching, the City of Quincy has announced its holiday schedule.
