Restaurants come and go all the time, but there are a handful of national food joints that seem to be slowly disappearing from Illinois that may never return. The list includes some popular food places that have been around for decades.
I am a fan of all of these restaurants. All have been famous chains that I thought were more successful than they apparently were as reports say that you're probably gonna see less of them in Missouri in 2024.
I like to be an optimistic person, but I will admit that I'm more than a little bit alarmed at how artificial intelligence is starting to take over. That's true even at Missouri McDonalds as the robots will be playing a large part of their 2024 plan. It's probably no reason to worry though. Maybe.
Some of life's mysteries just are not meant to be solved. Why is water wet? How did people first realize you can toast bread? Some things we just aren't meant to know. Here's another. Why did some Illinois schools get so fired up that they banned one specific snack from their lunchrooms forever? It's a mystery.
There are serious things happening in this world right now. This isn't one of them. But, it is a new addition to my Missouri "to-do list" as it's a dessert that gives new meaning to the phrase "over-the-top".
It's not new to hear of a potential carcinogen in a particular food, but this brand new list is staggering. More than 80 popular Illinois foods are said to have potential cancer-causing plastics according to a brand new report just shared in 2024.
The 80's were the best. If you doubt me, take a journey with me into the now distant past when Missouri was so 80's that it had a McDonald's riverboat dock at the St. Louis riverfront.
