Lovelace Murder Trial Will Attract National Attention

The high profile Curtis Lovelace murder trial got underway in Adams County Circuit Court this morning, almost 10 years after he allegedly killed his wife Cory on Valentine’s Day of 2006. Where Should the New Adams County Jail be Built? [Poll]

The New Adams County Jail is the hottest topic around Quincy these days. Everywhere I have gone this week people have been talking about the New Adams County Jail and where it should be built.  Many are in favor of it being built downtown, others say out on the east end of town. My suggestion is a compromise. Why not build it in mid-town Quincy at the old St. Mary's Hospital site?

It was the morning of January 11, 1981 and 5-year-old Alan Edward Madden awakened to what unfortunately would be the final day of his life. What happened to this little defenseless boy goes beyond description. At the age of 5, little Alan was beaten to death by his mother, Pamela Berg, and her boyfriend from Peoria, James Crain.  Both were tried and convicted.
