I am amazed how many people do not wear seat belts when driving. It's a DUH moment.

One of Hannibal and the tri-state area's biggest annual festivals is gearing up for another big year, with some new things in the mix.
Real or not real, this is officially the best part of going to a Grizzlies game -- watching people break up on the Kiss Cam. Unless, of course, you're the guy who got dumped, in which case this is probably the worst part of going to a Grizzlies game.
If you go out driving anywhere lately you had to have noticed the amount of motorcycles that are now on the highways and byways in the tri-state area.
Here's something that a lot of people don't understand: I love to watch golf on TV. Seriously. I'm obviously not alone, as the PGA Tour gets network coverage every weekend. But all of us golf fans have, at one time or another, had to explain "how we can watch that."
It was sad to hear today of the passing of Ray Harryhausen. His name might not be immediately familiar, but it's very likely that you've seen a movie or two of his. In fact, two of my all-time favorite movies from when I was a kid, 'Jason and the Argonauts' and 'Clash of the Titans,' were films that Ray Harryhausen brought to life. He wasn't the director of these movies, though. He was the effects artist that mastered combining live action with stop-motion animation.
Once again this year the Hannibal Y-Men have a full schedule of live music and good times planned, and it all starts this Friday evening.
It astounds me, to be honest. We, as a society, are probably more impatient today than we have ever been. We get annoyed if our computers don't upload a page immediately, or our phones don't link up with satellites and send us our desired information like, yesterday. Standing in line at a grocery store while a person or persons in front of us takes "forever" to check out can nearly drive us to profanity. In some cases it does. This is a "now" world we live in, yet when it comes to bank drive-throughs it seems all those behaviors go out the window... and I just don't get it.
