ICE Meth Now Showing Up in Quincy Area

I recently attended a great power point program dealing with the meth problem in our area presented by Adams County First Assistant State's Attorney Gary Farha. He was assisted by Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Pat Frazier from the Adams County Drug Task Force. Also attending were Quincy Police Department’s Nick Hiland and Cody Cook of the Illinois State Police. Sgt. Frazier discussed the severity of the problem and mentioned that cartels in Mexico are now producing ICE meth, which is now showing up in our area.

In reading Tuesday's Quincy Herald Whig, I came across a story written by Don O'Brien about The Adams County Little League. I was not even aware that there was such a league in Adams County last year, which was the league's first year. Continuing a holiday tradition, the Historical Society of Quincy and Adams County invites everyone to their annual Christmas open houses at Gov. John Wood’s mansion, at 425 South 12th Steet on Friday, Dec. 19th, Friday Dec. 26th, Sat. Dec. 27th, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. each evening.  The mansion will be decorated for the season with traditional tree and mantle arrangements, and will be softly lighted for the occasion by candlelight.

Mobile Food Pantry Set For November 22

The Adams County Mobile Food Pantry will be set up on Saturday, November 22, at       10 a.m. at the Quincy Senior and Family Resource Center. Twelve thousand pounds of fresh produce and food items will be given out compliments of ADM, The Madonna House, Quincy Senior & Family Resource Center, The Central Illinois Food Bank, Quincy Recycle and Hy Vee Foods.
