The summer tradition of Blues in the District continues tonight when Marquise Knox performs in a free concert at Washington Park. Marquise was born and raised in St. Louis and handles his guitar with the best of them. A guitar he learned to play from his grandmother. With Knox's performance tonight only two more Blues in the District events remain for the summer.

Samantha Fish is scheduled to play August 22 at Washington Park. Samantha has been tearing up the Kansas City blues scene for the past couple of years.  Samantha was the winner of the “Best New Artist Debut” in 2012 and will be ready to get people dancing and clapping in late August.

The season, which goes by way to fast, wraps up on September 12 when David Gerald visits Quincy. Gerald grew up listening to the sound of blues in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan.

So bring your lawn chairs, your favorite beverage and snacks and enjoy another wonderful night of free blues music complements of the Historic Quincy Business District and their sponsors.  See you at Washington Park, but remember, the area around “My Rock” is reserved.
