Friday marks concert number two for the Blues in The District as The James Armstrong Band performs at Washington Park. Friday’s second of six concerts gets underway at 5:30 and part of the Q-Fest weekend. James Armstrong was born in Los Angeles and has been touring since he was 17 years old playing the Blues throughout the country. He is actually lucky to be playing at all after a home invasion left him with permanent nerve damage to his left hand and arm some years ago.  He managed to rehab his hand and arm and has not lost a beat.

Armstrong is also one of the better artists in engaging his audience so look for some of that Friday night blues fans.

For those new to Blues in The District, the concert is free to attend.  Just bring you lawn chairs and blankets, your own food and drinks if you like, although food and drink are available for purchase. The concert will run from 5:30 to 9:30 and expect a large crowd to be in attendance.
