If you like watching birds the National Audubon Society could use you. The Society is looking for people locally to assist them with their 114th annual Christmas Bird Count. The count is set for Saturday, December 14.  Those involved will count as many birds and species as they can in a 24 hour time period in the Western part of Adams County and the Eastern portion of Marion County. The results will be shared with other regional counts to get a list for 2013. Last year, according to a report in the Quincy Herald Whig, there were 79 different species found from the count conducted.

Ken Heinze of Quincy is the coordinator for the event in December. If you would like to be a part of the count team, contact Ken at 224-4832.
