The Kroc Center is inviting the community to participate in their upcoming Big Pink Volleyball Tournament to benefit local breast cancer patients.

Big Pink Volleyball - which utilizes a four-foot ball - began at Western Illinois University, and has gone on to become a game played around the country. The tournament at the Kroc Center will be on Saturday, October 18. An exhibition game demonstrating Big Pink Volleyball will feature area firefighters on October 13 at 6 p.m.

“Big Pink is a great way for everyone to get active for a great cause directly impacting local breast cancer patients,” said Big Pink Tournament Director Katie Thomas. “The four-foot ball that is used levels the playing field, so that all ages and skill levels can compete.”

To register a team, submit an application form in person at the Kroc Center. Teams may be all-male, all-female, or co-ed. The cost is $10 per person, and all proceeds will benefit The Blessing Foundation Breast Center Fund. The deadline for registration is October 15. Registration forms, rules, and all other information can be found online at The Kroc Center's website.

The Kroc Center is asking anyone interested in volunteering to assist with the tournament to Katie Thomas at (217) 231-5635.
