Ben Franklin Gone

For a fleeting moment yesterday, as I was driving by 17th and Broadway in Quincy, I felt like most people felt back in 1790 when Ben Franklin died.  Sadness.. that Ben was gone. To see crews demolishing the Ben Franklin store to make way for Walgreen''s future expansion had to bring tears to some peoples eyes.  For those who shop at Walgreens, those were tears of joy. No more "demolition derby" using the current parking lot there. For Ben Franklin shoppers it was just another reminder of a small town store losing out to the big boys.
