Well here it is.  The "official" opening of the Major League Baseball season as the World Champion  St. Louis Cardinals will meet the newly named Miami Marlins in the Marlin's brand new stadium tonight in Miami.  It's called the season opener but in reality that occurred last week in Japan when the Oakland A's played two games against the Seattle Mariners that actually counts as part of the 162 game schedule. What ever happened to the traditional season opener in Cincinnati?  I'm sorry, America's pastime needs to begin it's season in the United States in front of it's own fans.  I have nothing against the Japanese enjoying baseball American style but someone decided Major League Baseball must become international.  Why? Thank goodness the Cardinals or the Cubs were not starting the season in Japan last week or all Quincy-Hannibal fans would have had to get up around 4am to watch the games.  It's a great game...Don't mess with it.
