Congratulations to the ladies of Avenue Beat, winners of the Nashville Universe Rising Star Award! These Quincy High students have been making trips to Nashville pretty frequently, and they're obviously making a good impression!

Savana Santos, Sam Backoff and Sami Beardon have been together as a group for a couple years. You might even remember seeing Savana audition on 'The Voice' in 2014. It's usually pretty easy to find the girls playing at venues in and around Quincy, but more and more it's becoming a pretty regular thing to find Avenue Beat playing in Music City.

In addition to their Nashville appearances, Avenue Beat has recently come under professional management. The group representing Avenue Beat is the same one that manages country music star Billy Currington. The girls recently recorded a new eight-song EP at Blackbird Studios, which is owned by Martina McBride and her husband, and have been working alongside a number of established Nashville songwriters.

Avenue Beat won the fan-voted Nashville Universe Rising Star Award on Monday night at the Wild Horse Saloon in Nashville. Nashville Universe is a group that exists to "help talent get more fans, increase their social media numbers and rise above the noise." Avenue Beat posted the video below from the awards ceremony on their Facebook page.

Be sure to LIKE Avenue Beat on Facebook and follow them on Twitter. These girls' careers are off to a great start, and it's going to be fun watching it progress.
