The Adams County Health Department, along with the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), is recommending an annual flu vaccination for everyone 6 months and older. The flu vaccine is available Monday through Thursday from 8 am to 4 pm. The Health Department will also be offering several public flu clinics for adults and children in the community.

The schedule for these community clinics is as follows:

September 25 at John Wood Community College 11:00am-1:00pm (Drive-Thru Clinic)

September 28 at Quincy Senior Center 3:00pm-6:00pm

October 4 at Mendon Grade School 3:00pm-5:30pm

October 11 at Payson Grade School 3:00pm-5:30pm

October 13 at Camp Point High School 3:00pm-5:30pm

October 19 at Liberty School 3:00pm-5:30pm

The cost for the vaccine is $25 for a flu shot, $45 for a hi-dose flu shot and $10 for vaccines for the children’s pediatric flu shot. Children must meet certain eligibility requirements to qualify for the pediatric vaccine.  The Health Department can bill most insurance companies at the community flu clinics as well as at the Health Department.
