The Salvation Army of Quincy and Vatterott College are teaming up on Tuesday, October 3, to provide a one-stop event for clients in the Adams County area. It's called the Adams County Community Connection Social Services Fair.Providers of social services, education, wellness, mentoring, family planning, and other types of critical services will be available to consult with those in need from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 3, at The Salvation Army Kroc Center. Other free services are planned as well, including haircuts and flu shots.

The event is directed to those who are in need of services, at risk of becoming homeless, or low-income families or individuals looking to make a positive change in their lives.

A few of the available services will be educational planning and advice, resumé building, help in obtaining birth certificates and photo IDs, job-finding assistance, resources for housing and shelter, and more.

The Salvation Army and Vatterott College would like to encourage related agencies or business providers of services helpful to this target population to donate their time or services on the day of the event. Providers, who would like to participate or donate, should register online at eventbrite.com. Please direct questions related to agency participation to Cherie Brocaille at Vatterott College at cherie.brocaille@vatterott.edu.

Volunteers are needed for the event, and they may also register on eventbrite.com.
Individuals attending the event do not need to register ahead. There is no cost, and they may simply come to the Kroc Center between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on October 3. A light lunch will be provided by County Market free of charge.
