I love going to St. Louis! Between new restaurants, shopping, and plenty of tourist attractions, there's always something to see and do. And in the near future, one tourist attraction will be getting a MAJOR upgrade.

Union Station in St. Louis will soon be getting a 65,000 square foot aquarium! It will be located in the mall area of Union Station. This (in my opinion) is huge news for the site which has seen a decrease in visitors and, as a result, businesses over the past few years. According to the St. Louis Union Station website, construction on the $45 million project is set to begin this fall and should be complete by the summer of 2019.

It was also announced that the aquarium will be open all year (including holidays) from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. You can expect to see one-of-a-kind exhibits and sea animals from around the world. Researchers of the aquarium have worked with the St. Louis Zoo and other aquariums to make this the new attraction both fun AND educational.

And if you planning on getting married in 2019, they are also adding an 8,500 square foot private event space for weddings, business events, and other social events. I cannot wait to see what they have planned for the historic Union Station. I am glad to see the city of St. Louis put time and money into Union Station. Hopefully it becomes the thriving attraction it once was.
