A Freindly Reminder From the Missouri Highway Patrol

Spring brings in some nice weather, but weather patterns can bring challenges.

One area of concern is flooding, which affects safety on both waterways and roadways. Due to the amount of snow and ice this past winter, spring rains will begin soon and flooding may occur. Be aware of where you are on the roadways. Flooding has proven to be very dangerous in low lying areas and could be fatal. As for the boaters across the state, you need to take extra precautions when boating in flooded areas where rivers and lakes have become swollen. Flooded rivers and streams with moving currents present some of the most dangerous situations a boater can get into.
