The Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge for Special Olympic Illinois will be held on Saturday, February 28 at 12:15 at Moorman Park Lake in Quincy. The Quincy Plunge will be one of 20 different plunges that will be taking place in Illinois.

All plungers must register and check-in that Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until plunge time. Anyone can plunge, young and old, but a parent or guardian must sign the waiver form if a plunger is under age 18. You can wear anything but a wetsuit. Shoes are recommended and costumes are encouraged. Remember to bring a towel to dry off!

Participants must raise at least $75 in donations from friends, family and co-workers in exchange for opportunity to jump into the water. Each plunger receives a Polar Plunge sweatshirt and entrance into a Post-Plunge Party, plus the chance to win additional prizes for raising more money.

Plungers who brave the icy waters will receive incentive prizes at various fundraising levels. All Plungers who raised the minimum of $75 will received a hooded sweatshirt. Individual Plungers and Teams are eligible for the following prizes as well.

  • $250 – Red Plunge Towel
  • $500 – Under Armour Undeniable Storm Duffle Bag
  • $1000 – Under Armour Storm Extreme Cold Gear Jacket

All proceeds collected by plungers benefit Special Olympics Illinois athletes. For more information, contact Heather Davis at hdavis@soill.org or call 217-322-7451.
