The public is invited to attend the 2013 Torch Run for Leg 3 in West Central Illinois Tuesday morning at 7 a.m. The run will begin at Transitions of Western Illinois at 631 North 48th Street in Quincy.

Law Enforcement Officers will be carrying the torch for Special Olympics. They will carry the torch 22.5 miles from Quincy and hand it off to officers from other agencies at the Hancock County line. Those officers will head towards Carthage and then to Macomb.  The torch will end up in Bloomington, Illinois on Friday. Leg 3 will converge with the other 22 legs of the Torch Run at the Opening Ceremony for the Illinois Special Olympics Summer Games.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run is the Largest Fundraiser for Special Olympics.   In addition to money, the Torch Run raises awareness to the thousands of athletes who compete in Special Olympics games.
